Japan Bound

I found out last week from my boss that I will be headed to Tokyo, Japan for a month long business trip. I get back from Miami, have two weeks at home, then head across the Pacific for a month. Yikes!

The good: I'll be there during the cherry blossoms time. The bad: my poor kitties are gonna forget what I look like!

In other news, American Airlines dropped off my "delayed" bag yesterday.

I'm Sick!

Ugh! I hate colds.

I have been down all weekend nursing this horrible, horrible cold. My list of things to take care of before leaving for Africa is not getting any smaller and with a sore throat, runny nose, and no energy, I just don't feel like doing much of anything.

I did finally get everything stuffed (and I do mean stuffed) into my luggage, so I pretty much ready to go. Met up with the cat sitter yesterday, so my little monsters will be taken care of while I am gone.

Now all I need to do is to get rid of this darn cold and wait for Thursday.

Little Monsters

My cats were going crazy last night. Running all over the place being LOUD. Then all the sudden they got quiet. That can't be good. When I got up to see what they were up to, I found them up on top of my kitchen cabinets.... the wall mounted ones.

At least they are not scratching my new leather recliner (knock on wood)!

Must Love Dogs

Last night I went with a friend to a birthday party. It was up north of town. The couple hosting the party live on a nice horse farm and it was awesome petting and feeding their horses Lala, Betty Boop, and Forrest.

This couple had two dogs and along with inviting all their friends over for the birthday party, they also invited all their friends dogs. It was like a big 'ol dog party. I think there were 7-8 dogs wandering around the house. And we are not talking those ankle biter, floor mop yapping furball kind of dogs. The smallest dog there was Tulsa, the pyschotic Border Collie. Two Golden Retrievers, a Huskie, a German Pointer, and Edgar the lovable Rotweiller made up the rest of the group. I may have two cats, but I love dogs and had a blast playing with them.

There was also a "Dang, I wish I had my camera" moment as the husband running the grill with all our meat and fish for dinner had an audience of 3-4 dogs sitting right at the base of the grill intently eying the savory meats and flashing their best "feed me some of that" puppy dog eyes. Not to mention once we started eating and most of the dogs were sent outside to the deck and they all plastered themselves against the sliding glass window just eying us eating their steak and fish. Awesome!

I am a Catnip Dealer

These are my two cats, Buttercup and Houdini. They are high on catnip in these two photos. In their Christmas stocking was a few catnip stuffed toys which made their morning. They liked the catnip so much, they meowed and whined the next few mornings for more. So, like any good catnip dealer, I went out and got more catnip toys for the little beasts. Cute little drug addicts!
