A friends turned me on to Discovery Channel's Planet Earth series on TV. It is very well done and absolutley amazing on High-Definition TV.I know these types of wilderness and wildlife shows have been done many times before, but Planet Earth goes beyond the normal Tigers, Lions, and Bears seen on most wildlife shows.
The Discovery folks litterally went to the ends of the earth to capture some of the most amazing and little seen animals and plant-life. Amazing shots of animal migrations, underwater life, and the coolest slow-motion capture of a Great White shark jumping out of the water to snag a poor sealion.
The videos are jaw-droppingly beautiful and the stories amaze and certainly bring new light to the "circle of life" and the intricate and delicate balance all the animals, including us humas, play on this earth. I would highly recommend this TV show (or the DVDs) to everyone!

My cousin is pretty excited about watching Planet Earth in HD dvd. I was pretty skeptical at first but it seems pretty cool.
